One of the great advantages of mHBOT is the low number of contraindications, risks and side effects. “This is one of the lowest risk procedures in all of medicine,” says Paul Harch, M.D., a leading hyperbaric medicine expert, about mHBOT.
Are there any Side Effects from HBOT? Yes, there are a few but the great benefits often out weight the side effects in most cases. The bold are common side effects and the others listed are rare.
* Ear and Sinus pain or discomfort from the change of pressure, this can be minimized by ventilating or (popping) the ears well during pressurization, or by slowing your dive speed/ descend a little until you are comfortable. * Temporary Drowsiness * Temporary Hyperactivity * Temporary Dizziness * Temporary Vision changes * Temporary Headache or nausea (Can be caused by die off or enhanced detoxification) * Temporary Regression (Can be caused by die off or enhanced detoxification)
Any Contraindications for HBOT? Yes here is a list. If there are any questions about this please let us know so that we can obtain medical clearance to go into the Hyperbaric chamber.
* Known ear infection or upper respiratory infection * Acute asthma attack * High Fever * Uncontrolled seizure disorder * Optic Neuritis * Pneumothorax * Aneurism * Glaucoma * Pregnancy * Severe heart or lung disease * Congenital spherocytosis * Currently taking: Cisplatinum, Disulphiram, or Doxorubicin
I am Claustrophobic ... Can I do a session? Many people feel they could not do HBOT because they are claustrophobic but find they do great in our chamber because it is so spacious and comfortable. The main reason they don't feel claustrophobic is because they are breathing 91% concentrated oxygen and using our Low Level Light Therapy during the HBOT session. Both of which place you in the parasympathetic nervous mode of relaxation. Many people go right to sleep. Those who feel energized by the HBOT can easily watch something on their IPAD or Phone.
I have Mobility Issues... Can I get in and out of the chamber? Can you get in and out of a bathtub or in and out of your bed without help? If not, then bring someone to help you. We can not lift you. If you have mobility issues, call us to discuss before scheduling your session. So many people have found the M-HBOT has greatly improved their mobility and it might be worth it for you to ask or hire someone to come with you to help you get in and out of the chamber.
I Smoke Tobacco... Can I get in your chamber? If you smoke or smell of any smoke including cannabis, cigar or wood smoke, you will not be able to get into our chamber. Please refrain from smoking for 3 days prior your HBOT session. We also ask you not to wear any scents or fragrances or cologne to your appointments.
WE CAN HELP YOU QUIT SMOKING! Ask about our Quit Smoking Protocol. You can do it!
